PARAMOUNT CHIEF OF SUNYANI PAYS HISTORIC VISIT TO BECE EXAMINATION CENTRE

History was made in Sunyani when Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Sunyani Manhene with some of his chiefs paid a visit to the Sunyani Senior High School examination centres A and B to motivate and advise candidates sitting for the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
At a parade on Thursday morning ahead of the exam, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II Shared words of encouragement and motivation to the neatly dressed students who appeared ready for their exams. Colorfully dressed in Kente and accompanied by the Sunyani Akwamuhene, Nana Kwaku Sarbeng Ababio and others, the Sunyani Manhene advised the students to eschew any tendency of carrying “foreign materials” usually called “apor” as that practice was badly affecting the image of the Bono Region.

He used himself as an example of having gone through similar process as young student and that it was a normal activity that needed to be undertaken by the students. He added that examination does not reward intelligence but rather hard work and dedication and for that matter they should remain calm to have the best composure to recall what they have read and taught in their various schools.

Nana further added that students who had single numbers and have challenges to continue with their school would have scholarship support to enable them climb their academic ladder without any stress. Again, he encouraged them that his prayers were with them and that he was confident that God was with them and that they should go to the examination halls courageously and come out flying high as the stars that they are.

In her very words, Madam Yaa Kumi Yeboah who was elated by the royal visit and motivation confirmed that this is the first time a Paramount Chief had visited any examination centre within the Sunyani Municipality and was confident that the Sunyani Manhene’s visit would be a confidence propeller to the candidates.

Some officials of the Ghana Education Service led by the Municipal Director Mr Mark Godfred Domah and the Presiding Member of the Sunyani Municipal Assembly Hon Abdul Razak were amongst dignitaries who had come to encourage the students.
